To understand the requirements that need to be met in order to apply for this entry level designation, see the table below:
This is the entry level designation but is open to anyone who meets the criteria outlined below. This is perfect for new entrants to the staffing industry.
You must at least have your Matric (or equivalent) or a recognised NQF4 qualification.
For the purposes of the designation, the only experience that will be considered is that gained within the staffing industry or, in the case of an internal HR person, time spent handling recruitment as a core function.
For ISP, you must have at least six (6) months staffing industry experience.
You will have to write and pass, with a minimum of 75%, the APSO Entrance Exam. This exam covers the embedded knowledge required to offer a compliant, professional and ethical recruitment/staffing service such as ethics, labour law, recruitment processes and sales and marketing.
The APSO Entrance Exam is offered online and you will have up to three (3) months to study and take the exam. Achieving the required pass mark is compulsory before you can be considered for the ISP designation.
You will be entitled to use the designation Individual Staffing Practitioner, or "ISP". This can be displayed on your email signature, business cards and on your social media profiles.
You will have to ensure that you keep up your fees, maintain your good standing by working in strict accordance with the APSO Code of Ethics and Codes of Best Practice and meet the minimum Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirement of thirty (30) CPD points in the twelve month registration period.
The initial fee includes the assessment and your first year's registration fees and is currently R600 ex VAT. From year two, upon renewal, the annual registration fee will be R450 ex VAT. Fees are payable in advance.
