After a career as a professional squash player, Zuko began formal work in 1999 as a property manager for the listed Atlas Properties Limited, which was later bought by Acucap Limited. In 2002, Zuko was recruited as a retail sector equity analyst for the Brait Emerald Fund and was promoted to executive director at Brait Specialised Funds in 2003 where he served on the Investment Committee. In 2005, Zuko, as Executive Director: Strategy and Acquisition, founded the balance sheet investment program at Pan-African Capital Holdings (PACH). In late 2008, Zuko was mandated by the PACH board to build a private equity team and extend the PACH balance sheet by setting up a captive fund that would co-invest alongside PACH. Zuko is CEO and Principal of the funds’ team and has been managing private equity teams since 2006. Over the past 10 years he has served on four JSE-listed companies and he has chaired board sub-committees in Audit, Investment and Social and Ethics.
